Peter Infeld (1942-2009) and his mother Margaretha Infeld (1904-1994) began to collect art in the middle of the 1960s. The works were later integrated into the "Private Peter Infeld Foundation."
Focal points of the "Infeld" collection are the Vienna School of Fantastic Realism, naive art from Croatia, Pop Art, Buddhist meditation pictures from Tibet (so-called. "Thangkas") and Art Brut.
To make the works available to a broader public, the art patron Peter Infeld built representative cultural centers in Halbturn in Burgenland and in the idyllic village of Dobrinj on the Croatian island of Krk. Overall, almost 100 exhibitions were offered free of charge at both locations.
